Three Vintage Banjos Stolen from a store in Burlington NC – Recovered –

Update: They’ve been recovered.¬†¬†This was by luck, really. Or thief stupidity. Or both.



N&R Burlington reports on three vintage banjos stolen from the Lowe Vintage Instrument Company. Here’s the main details:

Just after 2 p.m., the man walked into the Lowe Vintage Instrument Company, 327 S. Main St., and ran out with the three banjos while a store employee helped a customer. According to a Burlington police news release, the suspect got away with:

  • a 1930s blue Gibson RB11 banjo valued at $8,995
  • a 1960 wood grain Fender Artist banjo valued at $1,595
  • and a 1930 wood grain Gibson TB-2 five string banjo valued at $5,495.
